Isaura Lopez Reed '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isaura Lopez Reed. I was born in Nicaragua in 2006 but have lived most of my life in Austin Texas. I attend McCallum High School, a public high school, where I am in the Fine Arts Academy. I play the clarinet and participate in marching band. In 2022, we placed sixth in the state marching band championships, which was a huge accomplishment. 

When not marching, I play soccer.. a lot. My freshman year  I played both on a Lone Star club team and also on the JV team, where I was the starter playing mainly at right defense though on occasion I also played center-back. Last year I was the only 10th grader to make the Varsity team, where I played mainly as the right back, though occasionally I would play left back or even right wing if needed. This year, as a junior, I have started every game at right back, scored a goal, had multiple assists and we won our district. In fact we won two playoff games and made the third round of playoffs which was the first time that McCallum has reached the third round since 2006. 

On my Club team,  I am the starter at right back though on occasion I play other positions, mainly on the defense, though I can also play wing. I even have scored a goal on occasion as a winger. This year, we are combining two teams and are playing at the Elite level. I play for Lone Star on the combined 05/06 North Elite team. 

Both my older brothers who are now 23 and 27 play soccer, and I love soccer too. My main positive attributes are speed, marking the winger, and keeping it simple by either taking the ball up the wing or passing it up field. Occasionally I will make a long run. According to my coach, I read the game real well. 

In addition to marching band and soccer, I am also a Girl Scout, and recently earned my Silver Award. I plan to earn my Gold Award within the next year. 

I do not yet know what I want to study, though I love Spanish, animals and the outdoors. I also have an interest in criminal investigations and forensics.
