I am Lauryn N Rosen. I was born and raised in the Southwest United States in El Paso, Texas. I have grown up with a house full of 3 loving, older brothers that made me fight for my equal play time. I had a fascination with sports and going fast when I was 5 years old. I began playing soccer, tennis and swimming at that age and continued to train in all three sports up until I finally felt a strong calling and connection with Soccer by age 11. I initially trained as a right winger and right back for my club team, FC Premier G07 in El Paso, Texas. I later was called upon to volunteer to play as our Keeper at a SoCal Tournament in March 2018 because our starting keeper had decided to quit our team. Her misfortune was my tremendous awakening for I fell in love with being a Keeper and my team's first line of offense ever since. I have been blessed to have the ability to train with some very talented Keeper coaches. My most cherished and longest standing coach has been with Mrs. Keighton Allen Hines who was an NCAA starting Keeper at Unv. Texas at El Paso from 2012 to 2016. She helped me grow my technique, skills and confidence on predicting the ball play on the pitch. I have also had the privilege to train with the UC Irvine College Keeper Coach, Ludovic Antunes, over the past two summers in California. I am now training with our local USL team, The El Paso Locomotives Keeper Javi Garcia this past school year. I have also been fortunate to play with 4 different regional club teams over the past 4 years including FC Premier E64 G05 and G07 in Huntington Beach, California, New Mexico ODP G07 team 2021-2022, South Texas ODP-El Paso G07 2019-2021, and my local club FC Premier G05 and G07 in El Paso, Tx. I look forward to have the potential to continue my athletic career as a NCAA athlete while I undergo my college studies. Just like the idea of becoming a skilled, competitive Goal Keeper seemed like an impossible achievement for me, my Keeper training has helped also grow my inner self's courage and strength in life. I used to think that being a women may not allow me to pursue a career in all of the world's possible fields. However, with me now using the new found confidence that athletic training has given me, I now have a fonder fascination of making a career in aeronautics more of a reality for me now, and not just a childhood's dream. I have also a great interest in potentially becoming a professor in the field in which I ultimately major. I have learned a great deal from my past coaches and I enjoy teaching younger students in sports and at my religious school as a volunteer Sunday School assistant teacher. Over the past two summers, I got the opportunity of coaching younger children in soccer and in the arts of goalkeeping in El Paso, Texas and in California over these past two years. I look forward to meeting and getting to know many wonderful athletic programs through our country during my journey as a scholar-athlete searching for the best fit. I thank you greatly for considering my application. Sincerely, Lauryn N Rosen.
