Personal Statement
First off, thank you for taking the time to look over my profile. I have been playing soccer since I was 4. I started playing Goal Keeper at the age of 8 on an all boys team. I was smaller and not as fast as the boys, but pLaying keeper was my time to take them on and prove that I could hang with them. I developed a passion for the position and have never looked back. Because I am shorter than the average keeper, I learned to jump, swat, dive, and slide to deflect and keep the other team from scoring. I started playing Club in Middle School and also attended camps at Texas A&M. I earned the starter position for my High School Varsity Team and Lettered as a Freshman. I have never shied away from hard work and constructive criticism. I also know what it is like to be the underdog and have something to prove. My High School is a brand new school with no seniors but we play in a 5A division against teams that have played together for years. We have not won all of our games but the other teams know that we will fight until the buzzer and just because we are underclassman, doesn't mean we are going to be an easy win. We have dealt with adversity and hardships as a team and have become stronger because of it.
My dreams beyond soccer are to become an Orthopedic Surgeon, specializing in Sports Medicine. My dream is to be able to play soccer for a school where I can get my Bachelors degree in Biology and then continue on to Medical School.
