Madison Carney '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Carney.  I grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes located in Southern California.  Growing up, I played multiple sports until realizing soccer was what I loved the most.  I first started playing when my parents signed me up to play AYSO soccer at the age of seven.  Which progressed to playing club soccer at age nine with The LA Galaxy youth soccer program, then Beach FC, followed by Strikers FC before moving to The Woodlands, TX in the summer of 2018. 

I am currently a sophomore at The Woodlands High School and a player on the girls’ varsity soccer team.  My club team is the Albion Hurricanes ECNL-RL 05 team.  In addition, I am a rostered player and have been a member of the South Texas ODP 05 team for the past two years and was selected as an alternate for the Southern Region ODP team for the 2020 season.  Over the past eight months, I have had the opportunity to train with the renowned European soccer coach Isac Doru on the technical and tactical parts of soccer. 

I have been told by several coaches “my positive attitude is infectious.”  I find it easy to make friends and always do my best to be inclusive with teammates and friends.  I believe I would be an amazing addition to your soccer program because one, I am highly self-motivated and push myself to be better every day, and two, I welcome and accept constructive criticism by coaches and peers and continually work towards improving and advancing my game.
