My name is Elin Sims, and I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old. In my earlier years I started off playing recreational soccer. I currently play club soccer for Northern Virginia Soccer Club (NVSC), as a forward. I primarily play striker, but I play winger and attacking midfielder as well.I began playing club soccer for NVSC at the age of 11. My current soccer team plays in the National Capital Soccer League at the division 1 level. During my time playing club soccer I have learned many things, including, how to work in a cohesive group, how to play with intent and aggression, and understanding that you always play your hardest no matter the circumstances. The lessons I learned have allowed me to become a better person, teammate, and athlete.I am a 9th grader and currently attend Forest Park High School. I am a very good student and take advanced classes in all core subjects. Additionally, I am enrolled in a specialty IT program at Forest Park, where my focus is on graphic design. I am a well managed and self disciplined individual, having maintained a 4.1 GPA so far during my high school career after receiving all A’s throughout middle school. My ultimate goal is to play soccer in college. To meet that goal I plan to continue working hard in my classes to maintain a high GPA and to continue improving my soccer IQ and technical skills. This will best position me to compete at a school of my choice as a student athlete in a competitive soccer program.
