I have played soccer for most of my life. My strengths in the game are my quick passing and my endurance in being able to run for the entirety of the game and always give my 110%. I encourage my teammates to push themselves and keep the field positive and motivated, and I am not afraid to go head to head with a much taller forward! I started on my current club team, my first and only, when I was eight. It was a small step then but long term I have been able to see how that changed the course of my life. I play for a small club called FC Edmonds, it would have been easy to look over if I hadn't had a friend encouraging me to join the team. Over the years, I have been able to have a very unique experience with soccer. My team has been together for a very long time, having a close knit team that is so passionate about proving our selves has been a huge driving force for me to continue to get better, and I was able to build friendships with new people that I still get to enjoy soccer with today. Being able to know most of my team for eight full years is special, for many other teams the players come and go. I am lucky to have a family that is uplifting and as passionate as I am about the game. Just as important is consistent coaching, my coaches have engrained in me some lessons that I will always remember and became the fundamentals of my life. These include the importance of mental toughness, keeping your head high, to never leave a teammate hanging, and if you give everything you got, its a good game. These qualities I learned have helped me push through school, low points in my life, to be able to put others before myself, and to be able to see success in hard work. I have been able to see how each day training pays off, as we qualified for nationals three times, though because of covid only got to compete twice. The experience of being playing the top teams was amazing, and taking home five wins was huge. These lessons have shaped me as a person, both on and off the field, and I am so grateful for my little step!
We qualified for nationals again this year and I am excited to be able to get the experience again.
