Hello! My name is Anna Jorstad. I am a Sophomore at Brighton High School in Brighton, Colorado. I swim on the Brighton High School varsity team and I have been swimming competitively since I was seven years old on the Brighton Bullfrogs. I enjoy both the competitive and social aspects of swimming. I work hard at swim practice, observing, listening, learning, supporting, and executing the guidance from my coaches. This work ethic has contributed to my success in the pool and has carried into my approach in my academic career. I enjoy facing and overcoming challenges, knowing how rewarding the success feels when you reach the end, whether it is a race in competition, a difficult set at practice or finishing the test with an A.
At my school we have the opportunity to be creators of a newspaper that is read by people all over the world. I am currently a page editor for the paper and am proud to be a part of this unique program that allows creativity and lets all have a voice in educating others about their beliefs and passions.
I am excited to continue my academics and athletics at a college that balances both. I want to continue to be challenged and pushed to achieve my goals. My family and friends have had a tremendous impact on my life, their support and guidance have helped me achieve my goals to date. I would look for a college atmosphere that provides the same support and feels like a family.
