3A HS State Champ...Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was eight years old and I can still remember pleading with my Mom to let me join. During the first practice I had an overwhelming feeling of happiness and the water became my second home. Since this time my aspirations have grown from qualifying for state meets, to qualifying for regional and national championship meets.
I am a very driven student athlete, by demonstrating strength and determination both in and out of the water. My freshman year, I was awarded the Jefferson Country League All Conference award and inducted into the National Honor Society. Through these experiences I have learned time management, hard work and dedication you can achieve your goals. One of my strongest attribute is being a great teammate; leading by example with a positive attitude and encouraging my teammates both through the good times and the disappointments.
Swimming at the collegiate level has always been a dream of mine and the overall priceless opportunities it can provide. I am looking forward to attending college where I can achieve my goals both academically and athletically and be a valuable team member.
