Lillie Sheppard '26 Recruiting Profile

Lillie Sheppard is the ultimate teammate. Her ability to balance being a leader, working on herself, and keeping a pulse on the team dynamics is quite impressive. Many athletes only have one or two of these characteristics, but she finds a way to strike the difficult balance of all three. Lillie connects with her peers and is an effective communicator for her age. She knows what's expected of herself and the team, and is able to articulate it up and down the program.

Lillie is dedicated to her craft. She finds a variety of ways to get better whether it's from showing up early, getting a group together, or individual training on her own time. People look to Lillie to lead, provide fire on the court, and show up when it matters.

Overall, Lillie wants it! She's dedicated to her volleyball journey and is relentless in the pursuit. She's well-rounded and will give in so many ways to the program she joins.

It's my privilege to write about Lillie Shepard. Lille has been a part of St. Mary’s volleyball program for the past 2 years. Lillie is one of the hardest-working players I've worked with in my 13 years of coaching. Her leadership is well beyond her years, Lille is the type of player that everyone looks to. She has committed herself to improving by being receptive to feedback and spending many hours training outside of practice and Club season.

She has learned to play all positions on the court, although her favorites are Libero and Outside Hitter. You rarely have a player who can step in and play at a high level no matter where you put her. Lillie is always the first person in the gym and the last to leave, she supports all levels of our program at both home and away games. She is the type of player who sets the standard for your program and then helps others to make sure that they achieve that standard as well.
