Hi, my name is Lenja Osborne. While I swim for Rock Canyon High School, I am homeschooled and take a variety of college courses. I currently swim with Denver Swim Academy where I have been since the beginning of 2020. Prior, I swam for Lifetime Fitness for two years and Highlands Ranch Aquatics for one year. I switched to DSA for multiple reasons, but mainly to fulfill my drive for a challenge, and this team has done just that. Over the last two years, I have also implemented a two-three day-a-week swim-specific training program at Landow Performance.
Summer swim sparked my love for the sport that started when I was five. When I was younger, I looked up to the older competitive swimmers, most of whom happened to be my coaches, and I wanted to be just like them when I grew up. Now that I am one of those “older swimmers”, I have had the opportunity to be the 9-10-year-old summer swim coach for Castle Crocs Summer Swim Team, and I have loved every second.
Whether in swimming, coaching, or training, my drive to work hard, improve form, and drop time is steadfast. I am determined to reach the goals I set for myself at the start of each season, even if that means swimming twice a day, adding strength and conditioning classes at Rock Canyon, and pushing myself harder at practice and training. I am frequently told that I am humble and mature for my age. Years of sports participation, combined with interage engagements while homeschooling, have allowed teamwork to come naturally for me; likewise, I have embraced leadership roles that have come my way responsibly and with honor, too.
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile,
Lenja Osborne
