I became Sussex Academy's Henlopen Conference Champion for the fourth consecutive year, by winning the 100 breast in 1:04. I also won the 200IM in 2:07. I was named the Overall Swimmer for the Conference meet setting two new records and helping my two relays get top points. I qualified for every event this year for Delaware State Championships.
I became the 1st State Swim Champion at Sussex Academy High School. I swam my personal best of 1:03:65 in 100 breast to get 1st on the podium. Our 200 medley relay place 3rd place in a close race. I also earned 3rd place in the 200 IM. Our team, with 7 girls, placed 7th out of 22 teams. DE Champs was a great meet!
In 2023, I qualified for multiple events at YMCA Nationals. When I return from Y Nats in April, I will begin my second season on the Spring Track Team at SAAS. I will run hurdles, sprints, throw shot and discus.
I work hard to get better every time I swim, or walk on the sports field. I apply the same work ethic to the classroom. I have been on Honor Roll every term at Sussex Academy, and I am a member of National Honor Society. I’m finishing my GS Gold Award where I will bring water safety classes to our 4th graders at our elementary school.
I want to pursue a career in sports physical therapy or possibly another science/medical field.
I love swimming because it allows me to compete as an individual, but also as part of a team. I really like the friendships and bonds that I'm developing as part of a high school team, and I think that those same connections will exist at the college level as well.
I completed my second summer season as a Coach for the RBCC dolphins. I enjoyed planning the workouts, assisting the swimmers with their strokes and showing how swimming can be fun. We were able to take 10 swimmers to DSA Champs. The Girls team placed 10th out of 22 teams with only 8 girls and we place 16th overall.
I don't know if it makes me different from other recruits, but I'm not just a "backstroker" or "freestyler". Not only can I swim any event my coach puts me in, but I always believe I can be competitive in that event, regardless of stroke or distance. I think that makes me a good candidate for a college team.
