I began swimming for my community summer team at the age of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I played several sports growing up and finally determined my passion was for swimming. As I began to focus on swimming, I joined a year-round swim team. I am a very competitive person and enjoy challenging myself to beat my best times in the various events that I take part in. While I am very competitive, I am also very much a team player. I am always encouraging and pushing my teammates to be the very best that they can be. My competitive nature is brought out in the challenging Honors and AP courses that I take at Harrison High School. I earned a varsity letter my freshman year at Harrison. I am very excited to be on the cusp of my sophomore season and have the goal of making both County and States this year. The hard work and preparation for swim meets has taught me mental toughness that transfers into the classroom. While my desire is to swim in college, I also seek a college or university that will allow me to excel academically and prepare me for my working years.
