Personal Statement
Hello coaches! My name is Madyson but I prefer to go by Mady. The water has been a love of mine since I can remember. I began competitive swimming at 12 years-old along with playing basketball, softball and running track. When I turned 14, I focused primarily on swimming, developing a strong work ethic that carried me to YMCA State and USA Swimming Sectionals. I am determined both in the pool and the weight room to improve my overall wellness and strength to better my performance. The work ethic I developed in the pool has motivated me to do well in school, as I plan on beginning my studies of Veterinary Medicine. Many see swimming as an individual sport, but to me, swimming is a team effort and has benefitted me by constant motivation and encouraging those around me to be the best athlete they can be. I am always striving to utilize my energetic and humorous personality to motivate and uplift my teammates during practice and meets. Community and peer involvement are incredibly important to me, as I am apart of the rotary club, volunteer at the Huntley Animal Shelter and serve as a freshman mentor at my high school. I hope you see the possibility of me joining your team and school and look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much for your time!
