Andrea Conway '18 Recruiting Profile

I love the sport softball and always have. I have been playing the sport since second grade and my goal is to play softball at a high collegiate level. I practice and play year round. I currently play for the Northern Illinois Lightning in many PGF and ASA tournaments at the A level. I believe that our organization is one of the best in the state of Illinois. I have a batting coach, Garland Cooper, an All-American, NCAA, DI, Northwestern graduate that I have been taking batting lessons from for a couple of years.  Batting is one of my strengths. Outside of high school and Lightning practice I weight train (specific for softball), do yoga for flexibility, and do speed and conditioning drills. This routine has paid dividends to my game for offense and defense. I like my teammates and coaches and I believe my coaches would agree I am a positive and caring teammate with a ton of energy. I hold a 5.0 in an All-Honors, high school curriculum and believe I will be up for the task of keeping a high grade point average in college while being a team contributor and hopefully leader someday. I'm not afraid of hard work and going the extra mile.
