Swimming has been an influential part of my life from age nine and I want to pursue it at the collegiate level because I believe it has had a positive impact on me. Once I begin college, I plan to become an even better swimmer and teammate, as being an excellent team mate is very important to me. One of the biggest reasons I want to be able to swim in college is to be part of a close-knit team and be a leader to my other teammates. I also want to keep improving my times and help the team score as many points as possible.
In addition to my desire to swim at the collegiate level, I am also looking at a school that will provide me with challenging academics. My top priority for college is my academics, because I am looking to be successful in college and set myself up for the rest of my life. I am interested in pursuing speech pathology for my college major. Currently, I have taken several honors classes and AP classes. I also plan to take more challenging classes my senior year of high school. These classes have benefited me because I have learned the valuable skills of time management and a good work ethic. I would love to bring these skills to not only the college but the swim team also. I believe that because of my rigorous class and swim schedule in high school, that I would be very valuable to the college and the team. I feel that I could use my learned skills to improve my self even more academically and athletically in college. I look forward to having future communications with coaches. I am also open to any and every opportunity to find the right fit for both myself and the coaches.
