I have been in competitive swimming since I was 7 years old. I began swimming and still swim during the high school & college off seasons ,I can’t wait every season to get back to swimming and improving my times. I have swam on the Varsity High School team my Freshman through Senior years. I have also dove for my high school team my Freshman & Sophomore years. I was named a captain my Junior & Senior year seasons. I enjoy swimming Breaststroke and Fly. In addition, I am a solid utility swimmer who enjoys swimming relays, the IM, and all sprints for my team. I was a part of the Varsity Medley Relay Team that set a new Rock Island High School record during the 2015 season. A record that stood for 20 years prior to the 2015 season. Then during the 2016, 2017, & 2018 Girls swim season, we broke the then one-year-old record in the Medley Relay again all three years. Our relay also qualified to swim at Illinois High School state swim meet during the 2016 & 2018 seasons. I also was able to break a 20-year-old school record in the 100-yard breaststroke during our 2016 season. The 2017 & 2018 seasons, I was able to set a new record in the 100 breaststroke, breaking my new record I set the prior season. I also qualified individually for Illinois High School state in the 100 Breaststroke in both my 2017 & 2018 swim seasons. I also qualified for state in the 100 butterfly during my 2018 high school season. In addition to swimming the last three years at state for my high school team, I have swum in both Illinois Age Group State and Senior State Championship meets multiple times both in the Breaststroke and the 100 Butterfly and also as a part of a Medley Relay team for The Rock Island County Orcas. In March 2017 I qualified and swam at Speedo Sectionals in Iowa City, IA. In March 2018 I again qualified and swam at Speedo Sectionals in Pleasant Prairie, WI. In addition to high school swim season, I also participated in cross country for Rock Island High School during the fall semester of my Freshman year. Recently, I just finished up my Sophomore year, Spring 2021 at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. I have decided to transfer from Valparaiso University and I have entered the transfer portal. During the last 2 years at Valparaiso University I was part of a record setting 400 Medley Relay, the school record holder in the 100 IM and multiple top ten finishes in multiple strokes. I finished tenth this past season in the 100 breaststroke at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. I mainly swam breaststroke(100 & 200) and 100 fly and IM (100 & 200). Currently, in the off season, I swim for the Piranhas Swim Club in Pleasant Valley, IA.
During the Spring semesters, I played Varsity Girls Soccer. I have been the starting goalie for our 2016-2018 Varsity teams. At the conclusion of our 2018 Spring season, I earned All Conference, Western Big 6, Honorable Mention as a Goalie. I was also named as All Metro 1st Team. I do have forward, midfielder and defender experience also. During our Freshman soccer tournament in May 2016, I was able to play forward and scored two goals in our first game. I played travel club soccer for 7 years before taking a break to concentrate on my swimming.
Academically I was able to take one Honors class my freshman year, Honors English. I also made the Honor Roll both semesters and finished with an unweighted GPA of 3.69 for the year. My sophomore year I took Honors English and Honors Chemistry. My junior year I took an AP English class. I also became a provisional member of the National Honors Society and again I am on the Honor Roll. Currently, my unweighted GPA is a 3.71 and a 3.74 weighted GPA after completing my Junior year. I am also a Charles O. Austin, Jr. Scholar, designated for students who have earned a 3.5 GPA for 6 consecutive semesters.
I plan to major in Elementary Education with a minor in Math & Special Ed.
