Gabrielle Freund '24 Recruiting Profile

Having been swimming since I was six, the pool has become my second home. I love the camaraderie I have with my teammates, supporting and encouraging each other to reach our goals. Even when I hit a low, my peers were there to support me to push towards my goals. From my hardships, I’ve learned to put in my best effort if I want to see progress. When I set a goal, I always work my hardest to reach it. Putting my passion into the pool, I have qualified for sectionals and futures level meets, far exceeding my previous expectations. As I aim towards college swimming, I want to spread a sense of team pride and find camaraderie with my teammates.

Outside of practice, I spread my passion for swimming by coaching my summer swim league. Coaching has taught me the importance of having a positive attitude as a leader to foster an environment of growth and excitement. Beyond swimming, I focus on my academic success to pursue the best college opportunities in STEM. I have worked hard to maintain my academic standing while balancing my success in swimming. Since academics will play a large role in my college decision, I am looking to attend a school that has a focus on STEM majors. With college swimming in mind, I am looking to join a team where I can balance athletic and academic experiences, allowing me to bring my experiences to both communities
