Amber Secrist '19 Recruiting Profile

Swimming has made a huge, positive impact on my life and I couldn’t imagine college without it! Swimming has taught me so many things including my work ethic and leadership skills. One of my strengths of leadership skills during swimming is leading by example. I never let a moment go by where I am not giving my all and trying to improve on my skills, but at the same time my teammates see how much fun I am having. I am also a good listener and I offer tips and suggestions when a teammate is in need of advice. I work very hard and am dedicated to both swimming and my academics. My strategy is that through effort and hard work I will be able to achieve my goals. These goals consist of making it to both high school state and club state each season, with the ultimate goal of placing in the top 8 in my events. I also have goals to improve my times in swimming and continuing to make it to the NCSA Nationals.  I have also dedicated myself in the classroom to getting good grades and learning as much about my studies as possible. In college, I plan on pursuing a business/merchandising degree with the idea of being a Visual Merchandising Coordinator.
