Personal Statement
Even though swimming is an individual sport, a team environment is vital for success in swimming. I would not be the swimmer that I am today without the support from my teammates and coaches. Since I was seven years-old, this sport has played a tremendous role in my daily life. It has improved my focus, drive, and dedication. Swimming has taught me keep going no matter how hard it gets. These lessons have helped me with school, social life, and the sport itself. I have made some changes along the way, though. Recently, I moved club teams to benefit myself in the present and future. I felt that it was time for a change in order to continue to be successful in swimming. Making the move not only improved my swimming, but my attitude as well. I now look at every practice, set, and race with a more positive, confident approach. Swimming has changed my life for the better and I want to continue to see what changes it brings in the future. My goal is to keep this positive attitude with me through college and the rest of my life. I aspire to succeed academically as well as athletically in college. I want to be apart of a team environment that will push me and allow me to push them.
