I started swimming at 5 years old, at the beach club my family belongs to. Summer swim, as it’s often referred to, turned into a love for this sport. After two years of summer swimming, I joined a club team. Making that club team has brought more to my life than I could ever imagine. I quickly learned time management, juggling a full year sports schedule and homework, as well as friends and other activities. This skill helps me to this day, as I prepare for college and the workload that will bring, as well as a rigorous training and practice schedule. Although this could sound daunting, I’m confident in my abilities in school and drive to succeed in the pool. My goal for the next four years is to push myself to be the best swimmer I can be, for myself and my team. Of all of the things I have gained from competitive swimming, the most important to me is the team. Over the years my teammates have become my friends, my cheerleaders, and they have helped bring out the best in me by pushing me to be the best version of myself on and off the deck. I look forward putting in the work this upcoming season to prove I have what it takes to swim in college. In the years after high school, I want to continue to grow as a student, an athlete, and a teammate.
