2023 SpotlightPersonal Statement
I am excited to continue my college search process. I have many goals and I do have the ideal school and swim program in mind. I am now in 9th grade, this is my third varsity season. I have been swimming with the Oneonta YMCA since I was 4 years old. I competed at USA meets unattached for two years. I recently left the YMCA and joined the Clinton Cudas, a USA team. I am located in Central NY. I am determined and motivated to improve and give everything I have to the sport of swimming. Although I feel my best events are the breast and the 200 IM, I am willing to do the events needed for my team to succeed. I spent the majority of my first varsity season swimming the 200 and 500 Free events because my coach asked if I would swim them both as he said I had the best chance of not only winning but having a best time in our league and section. My second varsity season I spent more time swimming the 100 breast and 500 free while my third season I've been able to primarily swim breast and 200 IM. During my previous Y and USA seasons, I was focused more on the 100 breast and 200 IM along with the 100 Free. Despite loving the IM and breaststroke, I am more than willingly do what was needed for my team.
