Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was 5 years old, and quickly entered into competitive swimming at age 7. I first started swimming because it's the sport that my older sister did, but I quickly found my own love for it. I didn't receive my first Age Group cut until age 11, but I quickly exceeded from there.
I have been a competitive swimmer for a while now, and I have the skills and endurance to compete at the collegiate level. I am quick to make friends and I am definitely a team player. When it comes to swimming, I put my team first and I am just as excited about my teammates achievements as I am my own.
In the classroom, I hold a weighted GPA over 4.0 and I participate in several extracurriculars outside of the classroom. I am a student in sports medicine, which takes up some time but I love being around athletes like me and progressing to getting them back on the field or in the pool as soon as possible. I am also a member of the National Honors Society, volunteering 20 hours each semester at various non-profit organizations.
I would like to attend a college where I can push myself to be a better teammate and a better swimmer. I would love to study on the coast, especially the West coast, and I would love to compete at the collegiate level that is most suited for me. My goal is to continue to be a great teammate and excel in the pool to make myself and my family proud.
