Jay Hale '25 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate aspirations are to play for a college baseball program that would fit me athletically and academically.  I thrive to help my teammates on and off the field from getting extra work in before practice to studying after games. I am a natural leader with a positive attitude, who handles adversity well and is highly coachable. What also makes me different from other recruits is that I am a multi-sport athlete. Playing football has increased my speed, agility, and strength which has made me a much better baseball player.  I thrive in competitive and challenging environments in all aspects of my life. The greatest compliments I have been given in the past few years is the recognition by my coaches in reference to my character and leadership.  As I enter high school, I understand the importance of maintaining high academic standards and being the best representation of myself and my school.  After my freshman year I achieved a 3.75 GPA.  At the completion of my first semester as a sophomore my cumulative GPA improved to a 3.9 with a course load of AP classes.  

I competed in the USA baseball NTIS tryouts and was selected as a Southeast Stars 14U player and played in the champions cup in Cary, NC Aug 26-29, 2021.  From this event I have an opportunity to make the 2022 USA baseball 15U national team.  I am also a 2021 & 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Rookie All American and competed in their showcase and tournament event in Port St Lucie, FL Jan 14-16, 2022.  In February 2022, I made the Apex High School 4A varsity baseball team.  I was the only freshman on the team and started all 25 games at 2B including 4 state playoff games.  I started every game for the 2023 Apex varsity baseball team as a sophomore and was named as All Conference HM.
