When I started swimming at age 7, I fell in love with the water. My family quickly realized the joy I got from swimming, as I would swim extra laps on my own after attending my morning team practice, while my friends were playing in the diving well. Then, at age 10, I experienced swim camp! That took my love and passion for swimming to the next level. It didn't get any better than being able to swim multiple times every day and talking and learning about how to swim faster. From that point on, I begged my parents to send me to a swim camp each summer. Moving on through the years, as swimming became more competitive, my commitment, my heart, and my hard work for swimming continued to grow and grow. I always loved to work hard and feel that amazing feeling of accomplishment after a practice or a race. In 7th grade, I started swimming before school with my high school team. It was a big challenge fitting in being so young, but my coach invited me and I knew I could do it. To me there is no better feeling than completing a hard practice before most people even wake up. I would say I am extremely self driven. I want to reach my goals and I will do everything I can to do just that. I love the sport of swimming. It has built my character, given me my best friends, role models, and so much joy. I can not wait to continue to work hard and have fun swimming in college.
