My name is Margaret Rauth. I am in the class of 2025 at The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, Tennessee, and I swim year-round with Ensworth Aquatics. I started swimming with Harpeth Hall in the 5th grade. I was looking for a team sport where I could better my mind and body, but I did not find my true passion for the sport until 7th grade when I joined Ensworth Aquatics. Since I began swimming year-round in 2019, I have met some of my best friends and mentors and learned so much about myself.
I am hardworking in every aspect of my life, in the pool and the classroom. I understand the work ethic required to manage my academic goals while working to improve in the water. I am extremely organized and dedicated, which pays off in both aspects of my life. I value the connections I have made with my coaches and friends, and I am highly coachable and committed to following advice and suggestions.
During the school day, I am motivated to make the most of my free time, as I know that putting in work ahead of time is beneficial. I strive to challenge myself academically by taking honors and AP classes, and my hard work has paid off. This year specifically, my more rigorous classes are my highest grades.
When I am not in class or the pool, I volunteer for the Nashville Dolphins, a nonprofit that provides adaptive aquatic lessons ranging from water safety and survival through competitive swim team programming. I am also a youth ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). I raise money for the research that JDRF funds to make life-changing medical advancements, and I participate in group events to support newly diagnosed families.
I look forward to swimming at the collegiate level for a school where I can be competitive, represent my team, and receive an excellent education.
