My name is Olivia Sohn. I recently moved back to my original club team that I was on for 5 years before moving to Magnolia Aquatic Club. I currently am on varsity swim team (all 4 years) for Klein Oak High school. My coach named my teammate and I captains for the 2024-2025 school year. A little about my background in swimming is that I have always loved it at a young age and took many lessons. When I was 10 I joined my local summer league team and loved it, so I joined year round later that summer when I was 11. I worked my way up and now want to swim in college. My goals for the 2024 long course season is to be more confident in my racing and having fun as well as swimming fast. For the upcoming short course season I want to become more versatile in other events such as 100 fly and 200im as well as getting the sectional times in the breaststroke events. I am about a second away in both breaststroke cuts in short course yards. My overall goal in swimming is reaching my greatest potential.
My collegiate goals are mainly just to be able to swim for a college. I absolutely love swimming and want to do it for as long as possible. I'm not completely sure what I want to major in but currently am interested in psychology, nutrition, or business. I want to go somewhere out of state but no specific location. I prefer bigger schools and want to be on a team that can further help me improve and is competitive.
Academically, I have always taken the advanced pathways. This past year I took AP Calculus BC, AP US History, AP Chemistry, and DC English 3. My electives this semester is sociology and next semester AP psychology. I have been and A honor roll student my whole life with occasional B's. I am a determined and hardworking student athlete who strives to always do my best quality work. I'm passionate about swim and school, but have other hobbies such as making art and spending time with friends. I am also a very aware, punctual, and driven to continue my passion in swimming through college.
