I have always been an athlete and grew up doing multiple sports like lacrosse, swimming, field hockey, and basketball. Having three older brothers has definitely been a factor of my competitive nature and love of sports. I have swam every summer since I was about 5 years old, and this is my third year as a high school, varsity, swimmer. Last year, I really fell in love with the sport of swim, and decided to make the commitment of joining a club team. It has been very rewarding to see my times improve, and I have set some solid goals for myself. I believe that the discipline I have developed after being a multi-sport athlete will be beneficial to reaching those goals. I am so grateful to have fantastic coaches, both in high school and club, that have given me the confidence to pursue swimming.
Outside of swimming in college, I want to pursue a major in sports medicine and athletic training. This became an interest of mine while going through rehabilitation for my knee in 2021. Throughout my recovery, I received a lot of support from my coaches and trainers, and I hope to do the same for athletes in the future. Providing injured athletes support for not only their physical needs, but also the mental ones that come from the inability to do the sport they love, is something that I feel passionate about. Overall, I am a motivated person and am constantly work on improving myself both in and outside the pool.
