Personal Statement
I started to play tennis since I was 6 and from that it became my life. When I moved to NY 4 years ago from Caracas, Venezuela, with my dad and I got a scholarship at the John McEnroe tennis academy I couldn’t think of anything else.
Living in New York has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. Being away from my mom and my family, has been the biggest sacrifice I’ve ever had to do.
Tennis became my scape, more than anything, it was where I could find my peace in such a stressful city like New York. Not being able to play tournaments for so long definitely make me think I was going nowhere and like I was wasting my time. But I never quit. I think that’s one of the many things that being an athlete or how it has affected my life is that, it thought that no mater how hard something can get, if you love something you gotta keep going and pushing and working your hardest because some day it will pay off.
I would never change being a tennis player in my life. I’ve meet so many important people that have become a huge part of my journey and it has thought me so many things. It thought me to be discipline, confidente, a hard worker, a fighter and I don’t think I would be the same person if I never got into this beautiful sport.
I’m a really hard working player and I love what I do, nothing would make me happier than playing for the school of my choice, with an amazing team. Working with my coach, to make me become the best player I can be. To push me beyond my limits.
