Hi Coaches,
I have been running for 5 years now. I have always really wanted to run in college ever since I started running. Throughout those five years I have gone through so much in this sport, anywhere from injuries that will kill your confidence to coaching issues that mentally make things tough. I don't say that to be negative, but rather to be real. Through all of those obstacles it has taught me to be self motivated, disciplined, and humble. I think that the most important thing that I have learned through running has been that, most likely, there is always going to be someone faster, stronger, or better than you, but how you respond to them truly tells you what type of athlete you will be, will you let them motivate you and try as hard as you can even if you may fail, or will you back down without even trying to see your potential? This sport has given me so many blessings in my life and has taught me how to be a better athlete, student, friend, daughter, but most importantly has taught me how to be a better follower of Christ. Have a blessed day and thank you for reading this!
Best, Lucy Guthrie
