Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Abhirami (Abhi) Nair. I'm a sophomore at Mountain House High School. I have a 4.63 GPA and am taking Honors and AP classes as well as college-level courses at the San Joaquin Delta College.

I started my athletic journey with badminton, before moving on to soccer, and finally to basketball.  I wasn't particularly good at any of these sports. Still I could support my team as I was able to run across the court /field faster. As these sports didnt interest me much, I kept moving from one to another. Finally during my 5th grade fall season, I signed up for cross country. Realizing my passion for running, I signed up for the spring track and field session.  I finally found my sport, I loved how I enjoyed running and the competiteveness that comes with it.  This passion for runnng helped me compete at varsity level at freshman year itself.  In my freshman year of varsity track and field, I broke three school records: the 400m, triple jump, and 4x400 relay and qualified for CIF-SJS Division IV-V Finals in Long Jump, Triple Jump, the 400m, and the 4x400m relay. Overall, I am competitive in events from the 100m to the 800m.

I am so excited to continue running throughout high school, and beyond.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
