I started in track in the 7th grade as a fun activity with friends. In high school, it became a sport for me and got more serious. Now I am totally committed and love doing it. I see myself pursuing track at a high level and going as far as I can in the sport. My hopes are to continue running and jumping throughout high school, into college, and even after college.
Now, knowing that track is the sport that I am pushing for 100%, my attitude and approach to training and nutrition has become an important part of my high school experience. I am committed to weight training and doing whatever it takes to my dreams in track my reality.
I am also well aware that my academic achievement is equally important for my future in college and after college. I am taking college prep classes and achieving a GPA of 3.75. I intend to maintain a high GPA throughout high school with the intention to have an excellent foundation going into college.
My commitment and optimism sets me apart from others in my sport. There is not one meet that I will walk onto the track or runway with a bad attitude. I like to keep things light and fun with my teammates and competitors. Meeting and conversing with new people is another thing I love about track meets. I always try to look forward to the next jump, or the next race with a sense that I can always do better than my last.
