Sophia Hoelzel '19 Recruiting Profile

Running has always been a huge component of my life. I have been running since the age of eight and I have fallen in love with the sport ever since. Running in high school has pushed my athletic career to a new level and I wish to continue to push myself at the collegiate level.

Cross-country and track have taught me countless lessons of determination, persistence, and sacrifice. Running has made be a better person as a whole by inspiring me to always strive for excellence in everything that I do.  I am blessed to be part of an amazing high school program with a great coach who continues to challenge me daily. I have run on Varsity ever since the very beginning of my freshman year. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity, as it has allowed me to always compete against the best.  Additionally, I have maintained over a 4.4 GPA from the start of my freshman year. Running and my academics have taught me great discipline and commitment and I believe I can contribute these skills to a college program.

I am looking for a college who will not only challenge me athletically but also academically. Currently, I have an interest in majoring in political science. I believe my work ethic, dedication, and leadership will make me a great asset to any team!
