Jaliyah Davis '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jaliyah Davis and I am a class of 2024 graduate attending River City High School.  I have a GPA of 4.13 and I intend for it to incline as I continue to take advanced courses throughout my high school years. 

As I grew up playing on different sports teams, my speed was always recognized as being impressive. Seven years later after getting into soccer when I was just four years young, I began running track for my current club, Sacramento Speed Factory. I instantly fell in love with the sport as I was getting faster each meet and demonstrating the speed I was blessed with. Winning races left me with a jubilant feeling and the prizes I received as well. Although medals, MVP awards, and trophies are nice, the real prize was being able to even run and having the ability to do what I love each day. After each year even through injuries, I continued to get faster, stronger, healthier, but most importantly, my faith in God expanded. Though there have been races where I’ve came in last and have been a mile off from my PR, I never fail to remember that God has a plan for me and has given me a vision that I need to fulfill. 

My dreams may be big but my heart for the sport is even bigger. No matter how much more work I need to put in to get to the next level, I know that I have the most High on my side to guide me through every step of the way. There’s not a day that goes by where I don’t see myself attending a high level university running against the top athletes from all over the country. I know that this is the goal I have for myself and that God has put in my heart and I will continue to work for it day by day.
