Hello!
My name is Phoebe Cora Smith and I am a 2026 Sophomore attending Joel Barlow High School out of Redding, CT. I am extremely driven and competitive when it comes to track, but I am also very outgoing and I love meeting new people and making new friends. I am close with most everyone on my high school team and I'm also close with all of the coaches. I always give 100% of what I have on a given day at practice and obviously, at meets as well. I used to play soccer and one of my coaches told our team "There is always someone out there who is better than you," and I live by this quote. Whenever I'm tired and I don't feel like lifting after practice or even just doing the workout, I always go back to that moment and remember what he said. I am so excited for the college experience. I can't wait to meet all new, amazing people who share similar interests to myself.School has never come easy to me, but I actually really enjoy it. My favorite subjects are English and World Geography. Outside of track and school, I love spending time with my friends and family. I also love to read and write. I would like to pursue a future in creative writing, specifically novels and stories. It's hard to balance track, school, social life, and other interests and hobbies, but I am slowly figuring it out. I wish sometimes I could figure it out a little faster, though!
