I am going into my sophomore year of high school and I’ve been running my entire life but I started running professionally this year on my school’s track & field team as a freshmen. Generally freshmen don’t go to all the track meets, but I’ve been able to compete in all of them and brought my team to regionals.
Starting off the season, I competed in the 100MR, 200MR, 4x100MR, and the 4x400MR. Ending off the season, I continued racing in the 100MR, 4x100MR, 4x400MR, and I added on the 4x800MR. In all of the relays I am the last leg and my personal time in the 100MR is 13.5. As a freshmen, I raced in the 4x100MR and the 4x400MR at regionals, but we didn’t continue to States unfortunately.
I want to get my name out there now so colleges can see how serious I am about doing track and that I put in the work for my team and myself. I continue to train on my off season and I also play soccer for my high school.
As a freshmen, I have taken English 1 Honors, Geometry Honors, Biology Honors, and AP Human Geography. I take my studies very seriously and remain a high GPA of 3.6 (weighted) while competing in 2 different sports. Going into my sophmore year, I plan to continue progressing in my grades and sports.
I think of myself as a very outgoing, confident person and I tend to be friendly towards everyone. I try to stay involved with friends and family when I am not busy with my sports or academics and I keep everything at a balance. I am very well driven person when it comes to what I want and I overcome any obstacles that get in the way of accomplishing my goals. I hope to study Law and become a Defense Attorney as a profession, after track.
I hope recruiters look at me and have to take a double take. I am very motivated to better myself in all my races and I deserve to be doing this for as long as I can, that including college.
