Personal Statement

My name is Marissa Weekes. I was born in Columbus, Georgia but raised in Orlando, Florida for all of my life. The first sport I ever participated in was competitive swimming when I was in 5th grade. Then in middle school I played basketball and ran track. Finally deciding to run track all of high school. I fell in love with the sport and more specifically the team bonds I made.400m and 4x4 are my favorite events. What I love about track is seeing the improvement of your times come down with all the effort you put in from practice. It’s an amazing feeling and I want to continue track in college.
