Personal Statement

A Brief Incite of Who I Am:

  • What details of your life have influenced who you are?

    • School, cross country, and track have all helped influence who I am. School has helped me learn how to collaborate with others. Cross country has taught me how to persevere. Track has taught me how to handle stress.

  • When and how did you become interested in your sport?

    • I became interested in track when I was in middle school. I enjoyed the competitiveness of the sport. I also really enjoyed the challenge of always trying to be better and faster.

  • What have you learned about yourself through playing your sport?

    • I have learned that I am able to push myself harder than I ever thought I could. I have learned that it takes a lot of hard work to get better. I enjoy being a team player and helping benefit the team as a whole.

  • What are your academic goals for high school? For college?

    • I want to graduate from high school and college with honors.  I want to graduate from college with a business degree.

  • Have you had to overcome any obstacles to get where you are?

    • I have learned how to deal with the pain from pushing myself to my limits.  Even though I have had minor injuries, like shin splints and even a stress fracture. I have always worked to get myself into competitive form.

  • What unique characteristics or skills do you possess?

    • I am a very dedicated individual not only to track but also to my academics. My team views me as a very dedicated team member.

Track has been an active part of my life since 7th grade. During my freshman year, I was next in line to compete at state. Not getting to go made me want it so much more. I pushed myself sophomore year but was only able to make it as an alternate. This has made me work harder to make it to state my junior year. My coach saw how hard I was working and kept saying I was going to be forced to be reckoned with. Sadly I didn’t get to prove myself because of the season being canceled due to COVID-19. I am now even more determined to make it to state this year.

The dedication I have shown to not just my individual performance but also the team performance has allowed me to letter both my freshman and sophomore years. Along with my athletic achievements I have had many academic achievements. I have taken part in honors society since the 7th grade. I have competed in Business Professionals of America. I have placed in different events at both regionals and state.
