Previously before my running career started, I played 9 years of competitive club soccer. Freshman year of high school, I went out for the XC team and instantly fell in love with the sport. I quickly knew that I wanted to just focus on running and my long term development so that I can compete at the highest level. Having never competed in organized running before, I quickly realized the impact the sport made on my life. Running has taught me what hard work and discipline really are, as well as exposed me to how important team work and camaraderie are to not only the success of the team, but also to each individual athlete. In running everyone has challenging days but I have learned your teammates are always there to encourage and lift you up during a hard workout.
This past year I have worked hard on improving my times, strength, stamina, and becoming the best teammate I can be. Outside of school XC & Track, I attend TNT Ignite training where we work on sport specific weight training, proper mechanics, power, strength, agility, and speed drills. With this being my first year competing in the sport, I am still learning all there is to know about both Cross country and Track. This past summer, I also competed in the TNT Track Academy. This consisted of training 5 days a week with meets on the weekends. I was able to end my summer track season with two PR's in both the 800m and 400m. This summer I also ran with my school Cross Country team in the mornings in preparation for the upcoming season. With the help of both my school and club coach, I have been able to train and compete in both the Track Academy and Cross Country training. Not only am I committed to becoming the best student athlete I can be, I also want to be the best teammate I can be. I am always cheering on my teammates and making sure I check in on those that may be struggling and/or having a difficult time.
My ultimate goal is to attend a college where the team is like a family, but also pushes each other to be better and better everyday. My goal is to be the hardest working on the team. I am open to all college options and want to compete at the best fit college for me.
