For the majority of my life I had played lacrosse. I considered this to be “my sport” and couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. As a way to prepare myself for the upcoming lacrosse season, I decided to join indoor track. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the sport. When spring rolled around, I decided to hang up my cleats and continue to run track. Although I am new to the sport, my love for running is unquestionable. This wasn’t an easy decision but I know that I made the right choice. I am a committed athlete that always works hard at practice and strives to do my best during every race. I am always willing to help my team out in any way that I can, oftentimes doubling up events or running in our 4x400 relay team. Not only am I a committed athlete, but I am a dedicated student. I always make sure to balance school with sports in order to maintain good grades. My collegiate goals are to work hard in everything I do so that I can exceed on and off the track. I know that progress does not come easily and I must work hard for the outcome that I want. Unfortunately, during my first cross country season this past fall, I developed a stress fracture that sat me out of the rest of the cross country season and the indoor track season Although I missed out on good opportunities, I am ready to get back into racing this season! I know that I have not yet reached my full potential and would love to be given the opportunity to run collegiately.
