My love for the sport of track started the minute I decided to try it out in 7th grade. I love the competitive and positive culture that track brings, the friendships that are formed, and would love to compete in college. I work hard in everything I do. And I love that, unlike other sports, track is “you vs. yourself”. I have grown in so many ways both mentally and physically through track, and I strongly believe that it is a sport of progress over perfection. I have big goals and dreams, and I believe they will push me to become better everyday. I decided to try out hurdles this past school season, and I dropped almost 4 seconds from the start of the season to the end, setting a new PR in almost every race. I am working on my hurdle form this summer which I believe will help me drop more time, and I am also planning to pick up the 100MH next season. I have had considerable success through high jump as well, with a PR of 5’ 4”. I hold my middle school record and was ranked #1 8th grade girl in my state during that season. Entering high school (Hudsonville High School) I have been on varsity track both freshman and sophomore season, and was named team MVP both of these seasons as well. I also work hard in school, and through this I have maintained a 4.03 gpa.
