What sets me apart? My favorite question to answer. I think the biggest thing that sets me apart is my willingness to work hard. I cannot say that my times will necessarily set me apart from other athletes, because that is out of my control. What I can control though, is my ability to work. Not only just on the track, but in the classroom as well. I never settle for average, and I am always looking for ways I can do better. Just got a personal record? Work harder to get another one. Got a 90% on a math test? Study more to get 100%. I am very self-aware, and while I know I need a coach to make me better, I am also able to push myself. I am very hard on myself, which can be a bad thing, but I think for the most part it shapes me into being accountable and reliable. My goal in running collegiate track is to not only become a better athlete, but a better human. I want to become faster, and set new personal records. I also want to learn time management and learn how to be a reliable teammate, friend, classmate, colleague, etc.
