Personal Statement
Track and field has always been a huge part of my life. In middle school, I decided that I wanted to take my love for running to the collegiate level. I knew that this would take hard work and dedication, but it did not scare me. Once I got to high school, I worked hard to get on to the varsity track team. My team and I were very successful and had big dreams of bringing home a state championship. While getting out of the blocks during the 200m dash, I broke my right foot. This broke my heart as my team went on to win state. This pushed me to work harder everyday up to my sophomore season, which was sadly cancelled due to COVID-19. This taught me to never take any run for granted, and to give it all I've got. I worked everyday of quarantine and the days leading up to my junior season. I am very excited to be competing again! I believe that because of my hardworking nature and perseverance, I am an excellent candidate for collegiate running. As an athlete, I am always willing to listen and am very coachable.
