My name is Kloe Alejandro and I am a 14 year old freshman at Coral Academy of Science Reno. I am a varsity track and field athlete and I compete in triple jump, long jump, and 4x100 meter relay. I also play volleyball as an outside hitter for my high school and club teams. I have a passion for sports and I aspire to major in sports medicine to become a physical therapist.
I started doing 5k runs with my family when I was six years old and I fell in love with running. It gave me a sense of freedom, joy, and accomplishment. I joined the track team in sixth grade and I have been practicing ever since. However, due to the lockdown, I was unable to compete until my eighth grade year. That was a difficult time for me, as I missed the thrill of racing and the camaraderie of my teammates. I had to find ways to stay motivated and fit during the pandemic. I followed online workouts, ran around my neighborhood, and watched inspirational videos of professional athletes.
When the lockdown was lifted, I was eager to get back on the track and show what I could do. As a freshman, I qualified for the NIAA 2A Division Regional and State Championships and earned several medals in my events.
Besides track and field, I also enjoy playing volleyball. I joined a club volleyball team in 2022 and I learned a lot from my coach and teammates. They helped me improve my skills, tactics, and confidence as an outside hitter. I also made the women’s junior varsity volleyball team for my high school in the 22-23 season. We had a great season and we won several games against tough opponents. Volleyball has taught me how to work well with others, communicate effectively, and handle pressure.
Academically, I have a 3.4 GPA and I take challenging courses to prepare myself for college. My favorite subjects are AP Biology and Biomed, as they relate to my interest in sports medicine. I want to learn more about human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics and how they affect athletic performance and injury prevention. My goal is to become a physical therapist who can help athletes recover from injuries and achieve their full potential.
I am looking for a college that can offer me both a quality education and a competitive track and field program. I want to be part of a team that has a positive culture, a supportive coach, and a winning mindset. I believe that I have the talent, work ethic, and passion to be a successful student-athlete at the next level. I am excited to learn from the best and contribute to the team’s success.
Thank you for reading my personal statement. I hope that you have gotten to know me better as a person and as an athlete. I would love to hear from you and learn more about your college and your track and field program.
