Alexa Cruz '19 Recruiting Profile

Last year as a sophomore when I started triple and long jumping, I finally found my spot on the team where I can contribute the most and be an important asset. Triple jump is not a very common event on our team, but from the moment I started to get my steps right and began to fix my technique, I instantly fell in love with it and my passion and drive to become better grew each and every meet. Despite being below average at first and having little training, I didn’t give up and continued to perform at the best of my abilities. Also, I realized that in order to become better, I had to take extra steps and work on my own to achieve the goals I had set my mind to. I’m extremely competitive and passionate about this sport, and I believe I have a lot of room for improvement for the upcoming seasons. I’m very serious about competing in college and I hope I’m able to find the right fit for me on a team where I’m needed and can further excel.
