Hello, my name is Madeline Seminara (Maddy), and I am a junior at The Mary Louis Academy in Queens, New York. I am currently the Captain of my varsity track team and hope to run the NYC Marathon one day like my Mom. My aspirations for college are to be in a place where I can hone my skills and competitiveness as a runner, while enriching my academic experience. I want to become a teacher like my Mom, specializing in special education so I can help children like my brother. While many call track an individual sport, I always remain cognizant that I’m part of a team. One of my greatest joys is being a leader on the team and mentoring my younger teammates. It hasn’t been easy, but the work ethic instilled in me by my parents has allowed me to maintain a high GPA while simultaneously excelling in team sports. I received the school’s rookie of the year award freshman year and most valuable player award Sophomore year. I consistently strive to be a part of something bigger than myself. I am the president or the school's service/mission group and recently completed a trip to the blackfoot reservation in Montana where I helped teach the local children.
