Personal Statement
I started pole vault last year and I love it. I have gone from 118th in NY State to 12th, and 103rd to 4th as a junior in the pole vault. I am a member of a club team and attend additional practices with higher caliber athletes to push myself. I am a very coachable athlete, who enjoys learning everything I can about the sport. I was previously a competitive gymnast for 7 years, a time in which I developed my tenacious work ethic.
I am also very motivated academically and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I am advanced in science, math, as well as AP History and English. My dream school would provide an environment in which I can challenge myself academically, with the opportunity to contribute to a competitive athletic team.
