Nina Monsanto '22 Recruiting Profile

Track became apart of my life fairly recent and I instantly fell in love. Since the age of 5, I have been a competitive dancer. This consist of 10-13 hours a week. Therefore it felt impossible to add anything else to my schedule.  Adding track to my life creates a very tight schedule, but very much worth it. I believe I have balanced track, dance, academics, social life, and my mental health fairly well.  One thing that is extremely important to me is sportsmanship and leadership. Throughout many of my races I  believe I demonstrated great sportsmanship, by wishing other opponents good luck and congratulating them on their successes. Having leadership skills and motivating others is extremely important to me because these little remarks can really lift someone up. My goal for the 2021-2022 season, is to run 100 meters in 12.2-12.4 seconds, and to run the 200 meters in 25-26 seconds. My goal is also not to be the fastest sprinter in the world, but to be the most improved sprinter. I want to be able to carry on to do the sport I love in college.
