Just a few months ago I picked up a pole for the first time not knowing what I was about to go through. After these short months I have progressed tremendously, all the way from barely leaping off the ground to almost over 10 feet. This past outdoor track season I flew over six feet at my very first meet. Then I went off to the North Carolina state championships three months later, reaching eight feet six inches. While apart of a pole vault club team in Mooresville, Rocketman, a couple team members and I drove to Washington D.C. for D.C. vault which was an amazing experience watching all the elite pole vaulters perform. One month later, we traveled to Kentucky for Vault in the Ville which had a larger atmosphere that included many amazed bystanders, music and many lights.
