Personal Statement
Right now I'm a junior in high school and I have big goals. I want to be a lawyer, use Spanish to help people in the community, and do what I do best while helping others. I think over the years running has become a big part of who I am because of having such an amazing empowering team. I do not take it for granted how great the running community is and I plan to continue running one way or another for many many years. I'm excited to see myself improve over the years. One thing I always remind myself of when I begin to lose motivation or feel like I don't see improvement is that in my first year of cross country my pr was 20:40, then less than one year later my new cross country pr is 18:51 on the exact same district course. When I see the improvement and all the work I put in to get there I feel amazing. I have no regrets, running has been monumental in my life, and without it, I don't think I would be as successful or happy in all that I do. I'm interested in running in college because I feel I can continue this upward trend of exponentially improving and I always want to be a part of a great team environment that cross country and track provide.
