Leah Pfeiffer '19 Recruiting Profile

Throughout my life, I've always been the type of person who gives 100% effort in everything I do. Whether it's school, sports, relationships, or even just hobbies, I will put in all my time and focus to be the best I can possibly be. My high school track coach always says, "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work", and I've found this to be very true. Sure, some people may just be naturally talented and don't need to put in a lot of effort, but I find it so much more fulfilling to be successful in something that I've worked hard for. I put in hours of training outside of track practice to improve in pole vault, and it really does work. Thanks to the time I put in, my encouraging coaches, and my ability to try new techniques that my coaches suggest,  I was able to jump 10'11 at Districts, and qualify for State, where I placed 7th.  My goals are to continue improving in both pole vault and my academics and to remain coachable and open-minded. I will never be satisfied giving less than 100% in anything I do.
